The combination of rope access and stem treatment techniques allows precise herbicide control of invasive species such as rhododendron and laurel in challenging locations.

Being able to access all areas where an invasive species is growing makes eradication a viable option.

Removal of invasive alien species such as Hottentot fig can be undertaken safely and effectively using industry approved rope access techniques and equipment.

Rope Works undertake a wide range of habitat management operations. Tree work, scrub clearance and herbicidal control of alien species can all be carried out safely in even the most demanding situations with respect for the sensitivity of each site.

The use of stem injection as a means of chemical control of undesirable species has proved to be a valuable technique in recent years. Effective control of non-native species such as Rhododendron, Laurel and selective thinning of scrub species are possible throughout the year with considerable cost savings over cut and treat techniques.

We use precise application techniques that allow even very small diameter stems to be treated with a minimal risk of affecting adjacent non-target species. For example Cotoneaster has been successfully treated in areas of limestone grassland without affecting the desirable species growing beneath it.
